“Does this item work well in conjunction with Comcast WiFi? I have a Comcast XB-3 Arris 3939B Wireless Gateway for Phone, internet, WiFi and Home Security which is overall a good device but leaves me wanting just a little more in terms of network area coverage and performance. This product with the extension might serve me with optimal coverage. I'm looking for good signal strength to cover about 2,500 sq ft. indoors & outdoors. The Comcast device offers 3 networks I find myself juggling between the three of them for upwards of 25 connected devices with unreliable or inconsistent coverage in certain areas.”

I have Comcast internet in my home but only the Comcast modem and I hooked this wireless router up to it and it works great in my house. 2000 sq ft. The wireless router is also in a closet in my spare bedroom. The signal gets out just fine. In talking with a tech at Fry's electronics he said that he has the same set up as you and hooked up this wireless router to in (Ethernet) and it gave him better WiFi coverage in his house. I know Netgear just came out with the Nighthawk X8 I would look at that one for your system. A little more expensive but it looks like it has better coverage.

Please try again later.Works great - we have Xfinity Blast - also replaced Comcast/Xfinity modem with Arris TM820G and use Netgear A620 wifi USB adapter to connect to my older desktop - increased download speed from 45-50 to 175-180 Mbps - replacing Comcast modem saves $10/mo on Comcast bill.
