“Hey! Experts! :) FIOS, multiple WiFi devices, misc questions I have FIOS (75/75), about 7+ Wi-Fi enabled devices at any given time and a Nest. I currently only have the modem set up and the best ping rate I've gotten has been 35 - 40 (even with changing the channel the modem is on, trying to replicate a repeater and moving the modem). I have a two story home - about 1500 sqft. Based on the reviews of this product, I feel that the Nighthawk would help the speed deficit and increase the range. I would love any feedback otherwise. I also don't feel like I would need GeekSquad to handle my hardware/software at any point - is this true? Thank you for your time :)”

Sounds like you have enough understanding to not need the Geeks. So buy the one that does not include the support. Netgear is very good to deal with anyhow. The Nighthawks work...great for extending your network....remember though when you extend a network using wireless...you lose a certain amount of throughput. Locate this baby where you can pickup your signal at above 80-85 percent and it will deliver for you. Better yet, if you only have a FIOS router for Internet, it is easy to replace the FIOS router with a Nighthawk...Google it and you will get some good info and even a step-by-step guide. If you do that your speed will be better. I use one in an office building, where my router is in the basement, I connect with an ethernet cable and send the signal up to the second story very well. Stays connected also.
