The DST6501 Adapter retail box dimensions are 5.0" front x 4.42" back x 2.26" unknown. It is actually a little more than 5.0" on the front side. The 4.42" is the back side. It is an irregular shape. Instructions for set up tell you NOT to plug into a surge protector, rather, directly into a wall outlet. You may need to test outlets for signal. Some of my outlets' locations are not detected in the Netgear genie app. Plug into the lower of the two outlets. That way it will not cover both outlets. The upper outlet will still be available. The antennas will make it longer if pointed upwards. They can be aligned pointing downwards along the length of the adapter. See my DST6501 Adapter photos:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is correct. It will not work plugged into a power strip and the router itself has to be plugged into and outlet. It will not work if plugged into a surge protector and yes I would plan on it taking up an entire outlet. With all that being said they work great and well worth the money and outlet.
