• Yes you would since the extender automatically appends _EXT to your SSID. You can set your device to automatically switch to a better wireless signal but it will drop while it connects to the new SSID. Other extenders allow you to rebroadcast the same SSID for a more seamless experience.

• You can, but if you put both into your wireless network settings, if it loses signal from the one, it should switch over to the other.

• That halfway depends on the device you are using. Most computers can be set to connect automatically to the access point with the strongest signal. Some devices will stay connected to the access point that it first connected to until it looses the signal completely.
