• It is 5 feet long. I used an extension cord and it works just fine. Please note that, if you have the WIFI extender, this must plug DIRECTLY into a wall socket in order to work.

• The power cable is a standard length, about 5 foot. I needed a longer cable as well, so plugged it into a short, but heavy duty, extension cord. Do NOT use a UPS or surge protector with this unit though. The DST sends information back and forth to the router via the power line as part of its function, which is very helpful, but a UPS or surge protector will negate it (follow the directions in the user manual).
