• This router provides more control and gives you the ability to extend your network. If you do not need parental controls and such or to extend your wireless network, then what you have should be sufficient.

• It will extend your network in a powerful manner. You would send the wireless probably ANYWHERE IN YOUR HOUSE, it even includes a dead spot unit. I used it to REPLACE a FIOS Actiontec router. Never replaced a Comcast router though.
