Q: QuestionI would like to use this modem with a Verizon SIM card. How/where do you get a modem to go with a SIM card? Are they always sold separately? Do you have to buy the SIM card from Verizon?

Q: QuestionHi. I am going to travel to japan to see my aging mom. As I am frequently visit in near future, I decided it's better to buy a travel wifi than renting. With this Netgear nighthawk, do I still need to change sim card once I arrive in Japan?

• A:Answer No. The person who answered yes didn't know what they are talking about. This is a 4g lte cellular router with 4 band carrier aggregation. It does not work with 5g networks. In addition, as others have stated it is not capable of transceiving on band 13, thus it won't work well with Verizon networks. Att and T Mobile networks (or their MVNOs) will be your best bet for high speed data.

Q: QuestionIs this unlocked? Can this be used in other countries?

• A:Answer No it is not unlocked. This is for the USA AT&T network. I can be unlocked to support other USA networks (Verizon, T-Mobile). But not international usage because the LTE bands that other countries use are not available in the radio inside this router.
