“Are the 2.4 and 5g networks seperate and can I choose which network I want to connect my TV to? My new Spectrum router does not let me choose 2.4 or 5g and my LG TV doesn't work as well on the 5g.”

Yes, these are separate. They actually show up as different networks on your device (NAME-5G vs. NAME)
