• You still need the wifi modem. The Nighthawk is a WIFI router not a modem.

• This is just a router so you will need a modem. I have a Motorola modem and it works great. saves me lots of money and I have control over it. I'm not fond of the 1900 (it failed twice for me), another model would be my choice. SO far the Netgear 2600 is working fine for me. .
