• Yes, with this router you are going to a need a modem. The router doesn't have a built in modem with it.

• You need a modem to hook up to this device. Some may come with a modem already but not this one.

• Yes, you still need a modem. Because there are different broadband technologies, you might have DSL, cable, etc. you need a modem that works with your broadband supplier. It uses standard ethernet between your modem and the routers uplink port.
