Is the light supposed to stay on after it starts ? null

It will not stay on. If you have a light there is a problem.

When fully provisioned and install, No. The white light will blink while booting. After boot, in a perfect world light will go off. Blue means connected (which wont stay on long). Purple means booted but cannot find internet.
