No, the ORBI cannot be chained. Each satellite must communicate with the main unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! The recently released firmware version 2.0.0.74 now allows daisy-chaining of satellites. You can read more about it and how to update your firmware manually (if desired) here: https://kb.netgear.com/000048467/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-0-0-74
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should set up the main orbi in the center of your house and satellites on opposite areas to maximize coverage and speed
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My understanding is that each of the satellites communicates with the main router. At least, that's how it appears in the admin app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately no. They both have to communicate to the designated main hub (which is labeled as such).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No I believe each satellite goes back to the orbi but it does not need to jump between the satellites each one covers the decribed range.. is the way it was explained to me and if i unplug the one in the middle of the two I get the same signal from the far one
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Satellites can be configured mesh with each other AND the router or just the router. You need the router either way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They all communicate with each other. Wherever you go throughout the house your device will automatically switch your wifi to the best node. It works flawlessly in my 3500 sq/ft house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure. Tech support is very helpful if you ask them. They told me I had to have the main unit in the center which is the way I have it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m not exactly sure if it communicates this way or if the satellites only communicate with the base station and not each other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
