- Answer It depends on a number of factors, but using the color-coded LED light rings on the tops of the satellites will help you optimize placement. You can find instructions for this starting on page 17 of the User Manual: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rbk43.aspx#docs

Question? replacing my Airport Extremes with Orbi system. Have 3AE's hard wired to router (Incloset) Each AE has same network name and password. ? can the Orbi Satellites be hard wired into router like my 3 AE? or do they have to be wifi only?

- Answer Yes, you can click on the Orbi App and see all devices connected and selectively disconnect any device you don't want on there.

- Answer The RBK43 system is an AC2200 network and covers approximately 6,000 sq. ft. The RBK53 system (1 RBR50 Router + 2 RBS50 satellites) is an AC3000 network covering approximately 7,500 sq. ft. The 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN ports on the routers and satellites are all fully functional as LAN ports (they do not support a WAN connection as the satellites were designed to connect wirelessly to the router; the router has a single WAN port). QuestionWe live in the country and get internet through a hot spot. (Satellite internet is actually slower, like direct tv or dish). Would this device be useful? With just one hot spot we don't use a router, how would this help?

- Answer The Orbi system requires a direct Ethernet connection to your home's modem and a subscription to an ISP in order to access the Internet. Routers in general can only help you make the most out of your current subscription plan up to their designed limits; they cannot improve your subscribed speeds beyond it.

- Answer The orbi cannot increase your speed from the ISP. It can however increase your speed if your wireless was the issue. The way I look at it, it is like a garden hose. You cannot increase the water quantity from your utility. It is limited to a certain gallons per minute. However, you can buy a bigger pipe, which will make sure you get 100% of the power that is provided from the utility. This router is the same way. It can't increase the speed coming to your home, but it can assure that you will get around 100% of the speed coming to your home.

- Answer Simple answer: No. This is a wireless access point with router so it needs a wired Internet connection. What you need is aomething called a "range extender" or "wifi bridge". That will boost the signal from your iPhone so you can use that hotspot all over your home. Putting your iPhone near a window closest to the cell tower and the extender about 8 to 10 feet away will give the best performance. Here are a few caveats: iPhone hotspots limit the number of devices which can connect. The range extender doesn't hide the number of devices behind it so if your limit is 5 that is all you'll get. Data usage rates apply for your hotspot. So using this as a wifi option over cable internet might not be the best value.

- Answer Yes, it works with back to my Mac. UPnP is an included feature. You can even do remote screen sharing on OSX. (That is, at the rare times when the Orbi system is actually working)
