• I also have internet through my cable company.. Just plugged Orbi into router and followed installation instructions. Worked as described and have as high a throughput as directly through router.

• Yes; i have installed a couple of the new ac2200 both using a Cable Modem. If your Modern is old, you might want to think about upgrading that also.
