I have experienced no loss of speed in my Wi-Fi from the plugin satellite or other satellite. I have only seen an increase in speed among all devices no matter where they are in my house or outside. I have both in my Orbi system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.To my understanding, this Orbi router uses a separate band to communicate with the satellites so it does not cut the speed in half. In my measurements, I have seen this. I see very little difference between standing next to the base and in the far reaches of my house covered by one of the satellites.

Totally beyond extenders, just installed the system and a 6000 SF home and super coverage even to the back yard and street. Zero dead spots. Best WiFi setup ever!!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no- these are not like simple repeaters/extenders. There is a dedicated wifi band that is solely used for communication between the devices, and does not cause any degradation of bandwidth/data.
