The Orbi router system was designed to break through traditional WiFi barriers. It depends more on the distance from your router to your satellite or wireless devices. If your device in the basement is on the opposite end of a very large home from where your router is located on the 2nd floor, you may want to consider adding an Orbi Satellite or Orbi Wall Plug to your network.
