“I cant get any light on the bottom light- once if was green then red but overall it is nothing - am I hooking them up wrong? 1) hook into router/ plug; go to next room same wall but 30 ft away and plug in no light on bottom reset 6 times how 2 hook up”

Sounds like you're setting it up correctly. Have you attempted it in a different wall? Or, if available, moving the router to a different place?
