I moved into a small apartment in my mother's garage about 150' feet from the main house. The WiFi signal was super weak. I bought the Powerline 1000 just hoping it would work. It works like a champ. The only setup is plugging one box near the router and the other box near your computer or device you want to use. plug the ethernet cables in and your done. You do not have to share the same breaker, just the same service (breaker box). This product works.

At first I was a bit skeptical because you see all the reviews and some people say there great and others just trash them. Since I’m working from home now I’ve moved my office to the basement. And if you all know basements...they are bad for WiFi connections. It doesn’t matter how fast your bandwidth is, what service company you use, or how new your home is. If you have a dead spot in your house nothing can fix that in my opinion. I have to say this option works wonders. No more drop Zoom calls, spotty calls that keep breaking up and everything works fantastic with direct connection. I’m sure this isn’t the best on the market but it certainly does work wonders in my house. Plus the price was great opposed to jumping directly with a more expensive option. Would highly recommend trying.

Bought this because, unfortunately, my home office is as far from the wifi router as possible. Easy to use, took two minutes to set up, and I'm now hardwired into Verizon FIOS with perfect service. Highly recommend if your wifi signal is weak and you don't mind plugging into an ethernet cable.

My home office is in the back of the house, opposite where the wifi and router are in the den. Air routers proved worthless, so the choice was to run a 200' ethernet cable to the rear of the house, or something I hadn't heard of till recently but network extenders that use the wires in the house to send the signal. Viola! I had signal, and not the 115mbs that comes into the house, but a respectable 25-35mbs, which I suppose would be more had I gone the ethernet cable route, but for work (Covid quarantined working from home) it does just fine.

Needed a way to connect a desktop that i just bought to our home network. Didnt have a wireless card in pc and area that pc is located is in a poor wireless signal area. For a simple and inexpensive solution this works great. My only reason for 4 stars is that the only open wall outlet that i had open was about 10 feet from the router and i have a ethernet cable showing in my living room.

How in the world does this not have a full 5 star rating for all the reviews! This product is super easy and required nothing from me but the energy to walk upstairs and plug it in the 2nd socket. I opened the box read the instructions which were short and to the point. I plugged one in the plug behind my router/modem, and then connected to the router/modem. All the lights were green and suggested in the instructions. Walked upstairs plugged the other into the other plug and connected to my NVR security system. BAMMMM!!! worked without any other energy from me other than plugging into the plug. All I can say is WOW!!! I have not done a speed test on it but I will say I am getting full connection and fast playback from my NVR security system as when I tested directly connecting to the router during my NVR system test prior to full install. I did not have this before with the wireless setup I had even with a gigabit router. Also people that say these are high compared to others are just talking :). Compare this price to another Gigabit Powerline Adapter and you will see it is priced in the same ballpark.

I used this to connect my gaming console to my router that was on a different floor. The signal strength wasn't the greatest so I was looking for a better option. This did the job but at a cost. I worry about security since this uses the wiring to transfer the signal. I read online that the signal ends at transformers but I worry about someone being able to connect to my network. There is a security option button but I don't know if it works. By default they all share the same internal name. This means anyone who purchased the same brand could connect to your network. I attempted to connect directly to the extender using its IP address to confirm the name change but was unable to. So, if your not concerned about the potential security issue (apartments are especially at risk) and you don't mind the price (personallly I think it's a little too high), this is a great option.

I like the easy set up these hace. It is simplicity at its finest. Plug one into a wall and the other into a wall where the internet modem is and connect the ethernet cable to the modem. I have had no internet connection issues on my devices when using this ethernet plug-in. It holds connection well. Only one device at a time can be used with this product.

This allows you to extend your internet connection to other parts of your home using the electrical wiring as a conduit. This is great if you are experiencing weak WiFi signal or your computer or device does not have WiFi capability. You plug one extender close to your router or mode/router. Then the other extendeder where you desire an internet connection. Connect the LAN cable to the router outgoing port to one extender and another cable to from the other extender to your computer or device. Press the sync buttons on the bottom of the extenders and Viola, you have internet. One thing to be sure of; you need to plug it directly into a receptacle Not through a surge protector or whatnot. It needs a good quality electrical connection in order to work. My son used one for gaming so that tells you the speed if fast.

Works just as advertised. Package comes with two Network Extenders and two LAN cables. I am, by no means, a networking guru. My son (networking guru) told me about these and I am really glad he did. 1) Plug in first Network Extender near primary router. 2) Connect to router with cable (provided in package). 3) Go to an outlet where you want a stronger wifi signal (or as a means to connect to a desktop by cable) and plug in the second Network Extender . Signal travels from primary router to Network Extender #1, through house electrical power lines, to Network Extender #2 where you can use a cable (provided) to connect to a laptop, desktop, or a secondary router configured as an access point. Voila! Instant signal and range. I connected my second Network Extender to a secondary router configured as an access point. If I can do this, so can you.

Works fine for surfing, too much ping time

My home wi-fi doesn't quite reach the edge of my house, particularly my theater room. I tried using a wi-fi extender but it didn't really work, so I went with these. I have 300Mbps internet and I'm able to get a solid 120Mbps where I have the receiver installed. It's not bad and that's more than fast enough for gaming, video streaming, etc. My issue is that the ping time has increased drastically. It went from 5ms (what I get when I'm in range of my wi-fi) all the way up to 150ms. That means that Netflix has to really buffer before it can start streaming, gaming is downright impossible too. I will probably keep these simply because it works good enough for my NAS storage unit. I had a 5 port gigabit ethernet switch hooked up to this so that my PS4, Xbox One, Apple TV, and NAS could all get fast internet in my home theater room. Now I'm running a grouping of ethernet wires through my wall to get to my consoles, my Apple TV is able to use my wi-fi connection just fine. It could all be due to the wiring in my house as well. It's a little older so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I will likely replace this whole setup with a series of wi-fi extenders throughout my house once I have enough funding. Until then, this works OK.

Powerline extender worked in our cabin by the lake

This device does the job ! We installed this in a cabin with very old wiring and it worked great, although we did have to remove some 'noisy' electrical devices from the circuit. We connected a Wifi device on one end of the cabin into a Powerline extender, and then connected the other end to the DSL modem. This worked much better than a wifi extender in our case. I already recommended this to the other cabins around our lake.
