It depends greatly on the wiring in your house (old vs new) and the distance that the wiring travels. Keep in mind that the wiring in the wall may not be traveling in a straight line between the two outlets. If you're hoping to extend your coverage, you may need to test it for yourself to compare it to something like a wifi extender with a built in ethernet jack, or a mesh network.
