Absolutely not. As the surge protector was described to me, it is in principle a coil made with two wires wound in the same direction around a core. This creates the action of a choke, which kills anything but the 60 Hz basic line frequency. If you must, plug all your network stuff: modem, router, firewall--into the surge protector. Plug the Powerlines into the wall sockets. The idea is to trap interference caused by the miscellaneous AC to DC power supplies outside of the house circuit.
