Unless your house has 2 services/meters...You should be fine...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If all of your outlets go through the same fuse box, they should be able to "see" each other. The NETGEAR - Powerline 2000 + Extra Outlet has some built-in signal connection and quality indicators, so you'll know right away if there are any issues. The worse case scenario is that you have to return it. You can run the PowerLine connection tests without hooking up any of your computer or electronics to it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 5000 Sq Ft Home and they work at 75 feet away, but i have one huge breaker box in the 3 car garage. - - - Each Powerline unit has a light to indicate if one box will work with the other box you have at the other end of your house - - - Green is what you want, if its amber color you don't want it at that electrical outlet because you will get slower speeds and its not worth using it there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would definitely need a qualified electrician to test However, I pretty knowledgable about electrical services I do not believe your two boxes/panels are seperate electrical services. May be possible just never have seen that. Plus you would have two meters. I suggest just plugging the devices into the receptacles and follow instructions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not have this model currently, but I am thinking about upgrading from my TP Link to Netgear. Our house is similar in size to yours, so if installed correctly, you should be fine. Most modern homes have (2) 120Vac lines from the utility pole run to a Service Panel inside your home, A.K.A. Circuit Breaker Panel. I think what you are seeing is the two separate power banks (rows of circuit breakers) inside your Service Panel, each one serviced by one of the Utility 120Vac lines. TP Link recommends using an outlet on the same power bank side as your target destination. My destination was the 2nd floor and all those circuit breakers were on the right side power bank. So, in my Service Panel located in our basement, I installed a new circuit breaker on the right side power bank and wired it to a 4-plex outlet directly under my Service Panel. Our Modem\Router is located next to my Service Panel so the paring was simple. I took the Adapters (3) up to the third floor and plugged into outlets. I am now able to Netflix on 3 TV'S, VuDu on 2 laptops, and YouTube on 2 tablets with no lag. One of my Adapters is a WiFi Extender as well. As a note: It is recommended by TP Link that the units are not plugged in to an outlet near a large current device, e.g. dryer, washer, stove. I believe our adapters were damaged when 2 separate vacuums were plugged into the same 2nd floor circuit and tripped the breaker, we are now buffering. I am hoping Netgear has better noise filtering...
