It is far more important that your wiring have continuity than what your wall material is made from. I did read an article were a unit was tested on a mix of wiring, aluminum and copper and the speeds were hardly impaired.

I use these to run hard line connections into the basement, since the wifi connection doesn't penetrate the concrete. You can use multiple units in multiple outlets, all you'll need are multiple packs of these units, and ethernet cables to run from the units to your devices - no other hardware is necessary. They are also really easy to setup, you don't need to have any technical knowledge - basically plug and play devices.

There are routers you can get in addition to the outlets that should do the trick in the event the signal weakens along the route. All in all, this item worked great for my main internet hub is upstairs, the office downstairs with no ethernet plug and the signal in the office being exactly what we needed.
