You can use it but still you need a wifi if you want to use multiple devices. IN MY OPINION YOU CAN USE BOTH TO INSURE QUALITY

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is not likely that you can share with your friend since most apartment buildings have separate circuits and breaker boards for each apartment. You can try it and you will know immediately but if your building is wired like I would expect, you will not have success.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Perhaps; the device has a USB outlet on it which allows my camera to use the house wiring to transmit data to my I Pad or IPhone while I am away. I believe that the same could be used by a computer to connect within a common structure such as an apartment building. Good Luck.

Please try again later.i wouldn't do it even if it does work. this unit is based on the electric system in the apartment, which probably quite hectic considering a lot of things are running thru and out of each room inside the building. the internet might work but it will be very slow and you will get disruptions and lag drops here and there unfortunately, this kind of unit if built for houses that are more new and does not have all the messy wirings inside.
