“Does this work if our computer is on a different circuit breaker than the main router is connected to? My son has slow internet connection in the basement of our home, even though we just bought a TP-Link router and Arris modem, both of which are located one level up from his bedroom. Will this Powerline Adapter Kit help solve his slow connectivity issues? Thx!”

Yes it should work as long as it's the same junction box.

It is not designed to be a wireless system, it is designed to be an alternative to using cables. So if you have two adapters on separate electrical systems it is like trying to connect two cables using thin air. This specific product has a light that comes to let you know that the two adapters are on the same system, if the light doesn't come on it means they are on different electrical systems, so that makes things easy.
