You would need a laptop to configure the router correctly otherwise, you will be setting it up with default settings (that is if you could set it up at all without a PC). The default settings may not be secure.

Connect to the SSID with the password on the bottom of the router (or shrink wrap, come to think of it) and then login, using the user/pass on the bottom of the router. Use your phone, tablet - whatever -- and connect to the IP address (these days, it's typically 192.168.1.1). Also, NETGEAR offers the Genie app as well for management. They should do just fine.
