This router has a repeater mode as well as AP mode. I use the latter for maximum performance throughout the house.

They are decently priced, and you can get one made by NetGear. Just follow the instructions carefully while setting it up, sometimes linking the signals can be tricky.

And best of all the connection between the initial wireless router and the extender device is by wired LAN or through electrical connection type.
