I just bought a new router for the very same reason because my existing router was a plain base model only able to send up to 54mbps out but I was only getting around 15. With this new Netgear router I'm getting over 100gbps!!! No issues anymore with my firestick. Just make sure your modem and router can handle at least 100mbps and make sure your internet plan is supplying you with at least 75mbps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just replaced a Lynksis product similar to the N600 with the Netgear Nighthawk AC2300. Its a lil pricey, but not bad. However before my wifi speed would only avarage 50Mbps. I could stream ,but it was weak as your saying and would buffer due to the number of devices I had sharing wifi, with the Netgear my speedtest over wifi gets 120 to 130 Mbps. Big difference and worth the extra money. And that was with 8 devices sharing wifi at the time,, i sometimes have 12.

Please try again later.Using Internet enabled applications through a firestick may in fact be Internet related or it might be the firestick does not have enough CPU or memory to run the apps it is running, which might be addressed by uninstalling or disabling unnecessary apps to ensure the apps used frequently run faster. To answer your question, a multi-band router can help your firestick run better by putting different devices on different wifi bands for example; laptops and other faster devices go on a 5G band while your firestick stays on it's own band. Good luck at getting these performance issues ironed out sometimes troubleshooting can be a pain.
