Yes it will work. I have Service Electric in NJ and it works fine but most routers would. Very easy set up. Just plue the enternet (yellow) into the Service elect modem and then into the router and you are ready to go.

What you will find with cable companies is that you will need to buy a cable modem on top of this router so you can plug the cable wire into the cable modem and plug Netgear Nighthawk into the cable modem also. A simple diagram for your reference: Cable wire from wall > Cable Modem > Netgear Nighthawk router > Means plugged into I hope this helps.
