Yes, you can connect an Ethernet cord directly to the extender and probably get better speed than a wireless card inserted into you computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For me I use it for my Blu-Ray player Ethernet hookup and also to get a better signal where my room is. You got to make sure the wifi range extender can get the signal from your router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have good wifi now, this product basically increases your range and enhances your existing router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. If you have signal strength upstairs, you can do this. I have done the same thing in my house and it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes this item should be able to connect your Ethernet based computer to your wifi network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can, you can make it a wifi extender and it will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that was the purpose of my purchase. I have my wifi router downstairs and my desktop used to be connected via LAN. I was moving my desktop upstairs and didn't want to add a wifi card to the desktop knowing that upstairs in my older house I lose signal. By adding the extender in the office upstairs I can connect the desktop via LAN.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I am using the NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Dual-Band Range Extender with 4-Port Ethernet Switch to extend my wifi signals to cover upstairs rooms and an attached garage. I placed the extender upstairs in a bedroom, and it has no problem picking up and extending 2.4 and 5.0 gigahertz signals from my two routers (one xfinity, the other linksys). Both of these routers are located in a downstairs office which doesn't have line of sight to the bedroom where the extender is located. I am able to connect with and use the extended signals via, smart TV, laptop, and smart phone, and the extended signals work as fast as the original 2.4 and 5.0 gigahertz signals.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it has Ethernet and USB connections. I had a different application because this unit can be used as a stand alone unit connected to an AC outlet and bridge to your other router. I'm guessing you would pull in data faster if directly wired to your computer, so I guess a little test would be worth trying.
