Not sure about the router you are using but I use mine with our smart TV and it works fine.

However, there could be other reasons your stream keeps stalling/buffering. As a diagnostic test, try placing your TV close to your router (thereby ensuring that signal strength isn't the issue). If the problem persists, the range extender won't help. However, if close proximity helps the video stream smoothly, then signal strength is likely part of the problem and the range extender may help. Another test you can do is to try watching the video stream using another device in the same room as your TV. Does Amazon stream smoothly to your phone/tablet/PC when you place it near your TV? If so, then the problem is less likely to be a weak signal, and the range extender probably won't help.
