That would depend. Is your TV next to your modem? If it is, buying this device will be of no use. If it is not, have you tried moving the TV closer to the modem? If it works just fine when it it closer to the modem, then that means the signal is too weak to reach the TV where you usually have it at and this extender will be perfect to strengthen your network signal to increase the speed.
