Does the Netgear N300 Wireless Router work with Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband? I have a Verizon Wireless USB device that connects me to the internet (no cables just the USB) on one laptop and I was wondering if the Netgear N300 Wireless Router can use that internet connection to give me Wi-Fi on another laptop.

The answer is yes. I use a Verizon USB Modem for my internet access (connected to my desktop PC) and use router so that the internet connection can be shared with laptop.

Normally, routers like this do not use USB connections; they typically only use an Ethernet connection from a DSL or Cable modem.

You don't even need the router for this. You can share your internet connection with a wireless adapter from within Windows. Do a google search on internet sharing and create an ad-hoc network for that. Probably will need a second adapter as this is usually done with a wired connection for the internet and then shared out via the wireless adapter on the laptop

I don't think that you can connect the USB device to the Netgear N300 Wireless Router because it does not have a USB port. It only has an Internet/Wide Area Network (WAN) Ethernet port for connecting the router to a cable or DSL modem. You would necessarily need an Ethernet cable to use this router.

No, you have to have a dsl or cable modem with an ethernet out for any router that I know of to work.

Effectively your mobile device is your internet service provider. If it has an ethernet output or "Cat5/6" cable, you should be able to make it work. Many of the mobile hot spots I have seen are purely wireless. Some have an ethernet port and some are USB. It needs to act as the equivalent of the modem devices provided by the ISP's.
