• This is a WiFi router only. You still need a modem from your cable or DLS company.

• No you do not need to get and extra one if you are connecting it to the computer.

• You only need one router for a home network, so if you have this you wouldn't need a router from the cable company. However, you would need a device (aka modem) from the cable company to connect your router and their network. If their device also contains routing capabilities, you don't need both.
