A:AnswerI would say it isn't necessary, but we have a couple floor fans in the room we have these down in for general air circulation. It's a large room, but it gets sun all day in Arizona...fans are mandatory here. If you live in a very humid area or it will be in an area that will experience it potentially...Murphy's Law says "Better Safe Than Sorry".
A:AnswerI've used them with and without a vapor barrier. I would recommend using a vapor barrier, even though I didn't have any issues with mildew. Previous homeowner used these in a playroom with no vapor barrier. 16 years later, no mildew issues. You're floor and conditions might be different.
A:AnswerThe mats are really nice and are being used in my home gym. Heavy furniture will dent it (I have a spin bike on mine), but the mats lock in nice, stay in place, and are durable.
A:AnswerIn my opinion based on personal use this would not be ideal. Would recommend industrial/commercial platforms for that use. These are on the thinner side and would not hold up well to outside conditions.
