“will this setup function even if the electricity goes out.....with the exception of the recorder”

• The system does not come equipped with battery back-up. Therefore, if the power goes out, the unit will shut off until power is restored. You can purchase an APC Battery Back-up to connect the unit to. This will guarentee power to the unit in a power outtage and serve as a surge protector as well.
