  • QuestionHow is the night vision? I had another system but the night vision wasn't great. I can not find any examples on the internet for this particular system.

    • Answer The cameras have up to 100 ft. of clear Night Vision. With our L2 Color Boost® Technology the cameras continue recording in full-color as light fades to darkness. Each surveillance camera captures full-color video in low-light settings, only switching to Night Vision if necessary. The low-light (L2) sensors produce detailed full-color video even as light fades away. When the light fades to darkness, the Wired Spotlight cameras continue recording using black and white Night Vision with up to 100 ft. of visibility. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

  • QuestionCan you download the video to a flash drive for external saving of videos?

    • Answer There are multiple ways you can save recordings. For example, recordings can be saved via the Night Owl App on your Smart Device or CMS (Control Management Software) on your PC or Mac. Additionally, you can backup recordings from your systems pre-installed hard drive using a USB flash drive.   • QuestionWhat is the camera maximum range length without interruption? please provide recommendation if an extender is needed beyond the maximum range.

    • Answer The cameras come with a 60 ft. BNC (Video/Power) Cable. The max range we recommend using BNC cable is 160 ft. (60 ft. included cable + 100 ft. extension). If you need to go further than that, please purchase our video balun. The video balun will convert the BNC connectors to Ethernet ports and allow you to use a single Ethernet cable run instead.     • Answer You should have up to 100 ft of clear Night Vision with these cameras. There are a number of factors that determine the Night Vision distance you will receive with your camera. These factors include: 1) the amount of ambient light in the area the camera is located (more ambient lighting the better), 2) whether the camera is set on a fixed object (camera should not be pointing out into blankness but rather focused on something) and 3) the number of LEDs your camera has (the more LEDs the more Night Vision distance you will receive).   • QuestionIf I run Siamese cable from camera to DVR, is 275' to far?

    • Answer We recommend not going further than 160 ft. from the DVR using BNC coaxial cable. If you want to go 275 ft., we would recommend you use a single Ethernet cable run and purchase a video balun for the camera.   • QuestionCan I zoom in and out with the cameras that's sold with this system ? And can I add wireless cameras to the system

    • Answer You can digitally zoom in and out, but these are fixed lens cameras. They do not have PTZ functionality. This system is not compatible with our wireless cameras. It is a wired solution compatible with our wired BNC cameras. Thank you!
