QuestionDoes this DVR have to be hard wired to the network or can it connect to the network via bluetooth or wireless? I am looking to replace an existing system that connects to my existing cameras but connects to my internet wirelessly. Does this DVR do that?

- Answer For the Internet connection, the DVR must be hardwired to your router or network access point via Ethernet cable. The Bluetooth is used for initial setup and allows you to add the recorder to the app and get everything configured from the app on your smartphone or tablet. However, to remotely view your system from a mobile device and to get automatic firmware updates, the DVR needs to be hardwired to your network. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

QuestionWill this DVR work with an antenna for local channels or do you have to have tv with your Internet connection to use it? I have a smart tv. Trying to reduce my monthly digital expenses with minimum sacrifice.

- Answer Hi Karen. This is a security DVR, to be used with compatible Night Owl security cameras. It is not intended to be used with tv recordings. You would need to contact your cable provider for that. Thank you for the question!
