Good Afternoon. The DVR with this system has both Audio Input and Audio Output ports. However, it does not come with audio enabled cameras. You can purchase a microphone and attach it to a select number of cameras and also connect the DVR to an amplified speaker. Yes, it is capable of recording audio. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!
