No it doesn't degrade the quality. I would say yes to weatherproof. It is raining right now and I am getting complete reception. Almost too much because it keeps notifying me of motion and it's just the rain. It is sensitive to bugs as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No loss of quality with even 200 feet - tape coupler and power connection well with pvc electric tape. 1080p Camera is weatherproof but no water proof. Best to mount order eave.
