• A:Answer Thanks for checking! This Night Owl Indoor/Outdoor Wire Free 2K Security Camera does not use a magnetic base. It comes with a standard mounting bracket that secures with screws for proper installation. It won’t attach directly to a metal door without being mounted.

The camera connects to the Night Owl Protect app over your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for live viewing, motion alerts, and remote access. If you're using it as part of a compatible Night Owl NVR system, the NVR will also need to be connected to your router for setup and remote viewing features.
