Thank you for the question and happy to support. The floodlight is made to easily replace an existing light that has a standard housing box to leverage the wiring for power. If you mounted from a soffit you'd need to source power from somewhere. If you have a gang box with power running to it you should be able to leverage that with some flexibility of mounting angle.
