He probably could, but if he's a real wildlife afficiando, I'd buy a larger pair with greater magnification.

We have no-see-em screens on our lanai which blur the view with these binoculars.

As long as the landscape visible through the screen you should be able to use the Nikon Aculon A30 10x25 to see wildlife close up.
