• We also found that the strap could not be attached as the manufacturer instructed- we tied the strap on to the binoculars

• The strap is slightly wider than the eyelet, but careful squeezing with the aid of a narrow object (e.g., ball point pen) it will go.

• I purchased these same binoculars for my grandson for Christmas so I don’t have personal experience in answering your question regarding the strap.
