Yes, this lens is compatible with the D700 series.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You should look for lenses that are marked AF-S. The AF-P type lenses are not compatible with the D7000 as they use a different focus motor. For a wide angle lens you might want to check out the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 G lens. This is a reasonably priced wide angle lens for APS-C F-mount Nikon DSLRs. If you are looking for wider angle and would like a zoom type lens (like the 18-55), check out the AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm F3.5-4.5G ED. It is a more money but it is a more versatile wider angle lens.
