As an alternative consider a lenses with the AF-S designation, such as the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II Lens, which are compatible with the D3100.

• A:Answer With the D750 having firmware version 1.12 or later, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Zoom Lens will be compatible with the D750 but this lens will have some limitations. These limitations include not being able to turn off the Vibration Reduction and you will not be able to access the Manual Focus Ring option in the Menu. Please also keep in mind this lens is optimized for the Nikon DX Crop sensor cameras, so when paired with a Full Frame body like the D750, you may get some vignetting unless you use the crop function in the camera. If you are okay with all of this information, then this lens will be great for both photography and video as it has a new type of electro magnetic focus system that is nearly silent and is slightly faster than the standard AF and AF-S type lenses.
