  • QuestionWould this lens work with the D5200?

    Asked by Lisy.

    • Answer While this Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm VR lens can be used with the Nikon D5200 DSLR camera, it will have some limitations with this camera model. One limitation for this lens and camera combination is that the VR can not be disabled. In addition, the lens focus ring can not be disabled when in autofocus mode. Another limitation is that focus resets if standby timer expires. For fully compatible lenses with this camera model check out Nikon AF-S type lenses, like the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Zoom.

  • QuestionWill this work with an older D40 Nikon?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer No. AF-P lenses are not compatible with the Nikon D40 DSLR camera. For a lens that is fully compatible with this camera model check out AF-S type lenses, like the Nikon AF-S AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens or the DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens. AI and AF type lenses can also be used with some limitation. To learn more about lens compatibility please contact Nikon Support.

  • QuestionDoes this work on a Nikon d5100?

    Asked by customer.

    • Answer No, AF-P type lenses, like the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR listed here, are not compatible with the Nikon D5100. For a fully compatible lens for the D5100 DSLR camera look into AF-S and newer E-type lenses. AI and AF-type lenses are also able to be used with some limitation on this camera model.
