Yes, I have the same camera and bought this lens. It fits and it works, but what it doesn’t do, is auto-focus like the lens that came with your camera. But to get that feature, you would have to buy a lens that cost over $1,000.00. For me, I am happy to manually focus this lens, for a fraction ofbthe cost of auto-focusing. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED lens is completely compatible with the Nikon D3400. This lens uses a pulse motor (utilizing stepping motors) to focus smoother and quieter than previous drive systems. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video. Manual focusing is also possible by placing the "Manual focus ring in AF mode" option in the settings menu to "ON". The AF-P DX 70-300mm lens is an amazing lens to use with your D3400 camera and will allow you to capture sharply-focused, far-off subjects with ease.
