• A:Answer No, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens is not compatible with the Nikon D3200 Digital SLR Camera. The D3200 is not compatible with AF-P type lenses as they use a new electromagnetic focusing system that the D3200 cannot communicate with. Lenses that will work on the D3200 will be AF-S type lenses.

Q: QuestionI am a novice photographer. I want to get this telephoto lens for my Nikon D3300 but need to know how far will it take the picture. For example if I see a bird on a tree about 150-200 feet away, can I zoom enough to take a close up of the bird?

The D3100 is not compatible with AF-P type Nikkor lenses as these lenses use a newer electromagnetic focusing system that the D3100 cannot communicate with. The D3100 will be compatible with AF-S type lenses.
