This AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens (#20062) is not compatible with the D7000. This lens is compatible with the D5 but the Vibration Reduction (VR) cannot be disabled when it's used on this camera. In addition, the focus ring on this lens cannot be disabled when using the autofocus mode on the D5. It's also important to note that this is a DX format lens which is optimized for use on bodies DSLRs with the smaller DX sensor. When a DX lens is used on an FX body like the D5 the camera will switch over to the DX Cope Mode Image Size, which will result in a lower resolution image. A lens without the DX designation would be a better choice for an FX format like the D5. On alternative is the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Lens (#20068) which is an FX format AF-P lens that is compatible with both the D5 and the D7000. For shooting indoor sports we'd recommend a faster lens, like the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens (#20063).
