• All Nikon DX Nikor lenses will fit their Digital camera Bodies. The D5000 camera will be fully compatible with this lens.

• Of course! My understanding is that all nikon dslr lenses are made to work with any nikon dslr camera, including older ones. I have this lens and I bought it to go with my D5100. I love them both!
